Gurnard Sailing Club hosts Cowes Dinghy Week, a six day family sailing event held immediately prior to the biggest sailing regatta of all, Scandia Cowes Week.
Racing every day, Sunday to Friday with around 200 entries in more than 10 classes, this is an event not to be missed.

Racing is in the Western Solent with starts mainly off the club line. However a committee boat start may be used if the wind direction warrants it.
Most afternoon races are planned to be between one and a half hours and two hours duration.

 


Mornings

Racing for Optimists and junior (novice) Picos and handicap.

Afternoons

Class racing will be provided for classes with 8 or more entries, classes expected are development cats, dart 15, RS400, RS200, Picos, lasers and handicap classes.
 
Sunset A full social programme runs during the evenings, with suppers, as well as lunches and B.B.Q before afternoon racing.

Social Events will include Live bands, karaoke, barn dance, Murrays Restaurant Supper, prize giving and Fireworks.
