Whilst it is great to see a bit of sunshine and so many boats back on the water, we do need to make sure that the club is seen to be adhering to all relevant covid guidelines including social distancing whilst using the club and boat sites. Please can you also make sure that you scan the track and trace posters at the clubhouse upon arrival,
If you or a member of your family have been asked to self-isolate please do so!
Many thanks to those of you who filled in the recent survey. Your answers and comments have been compiled into a document which will help the general committee plan the way forward for the club. As an immediate response to the requests for some recreational sailing with a patrol boat on the water, we have added in three dates to the calendar.
These are 30th May, 13th June and 25th July between two and four in the afternoon. Please understand that these sessions are to allow members to sail for a couple of hours in a designated area with a patrol boat on the water in case of any breakages or incidents. It is not a training afternoon and anyone who chooses to go out (or sends their children out) must be capable of sailing in the conditions on the day.
If these afternoons prove popular, and we can get volunteers to man the patrol boats, we will look at further sessions during the rest of the season.
We now look forward to the start of the training evenings and to welcoming over twenty visiting sailors to join with our own Tera helms for the Southern area championships in May.
