Summer made a return to Gurnard Bay last Sunday. Bright sunshine and warmth also brought a tricky south easterly wind. Business as usual in the catamaran fleet as Paul Bowen led home the nine Shadows from Carl Blenkinsop and Shaun Kellett. The Fast handicap was won convincingly by Brett Aarons (RS100) from Simon Davies (RS100) and the team of Graham Deegan and Judith French RS400). It was a busy race in which Mark Harrison jumped the gun and Bob Preston found a few setup issues on his RS700 costing him valuable time. Chris Hobday found the tricky winds to his liking, winning the medium handicap on his RS Aero from the Laser sailed by Mike Calvert. Libby Deegan sailed her RS Aero to third place. Robin and Samuel Leather led the slow handicap from start to finish in their RS Feva. The Picos sailed by Dawn Bee and Kate Gibbs taking second and third. Young Elsie Jenkinson (6) crewed in her first race for dad Mark finishing an excellent sixth on their RS Feva.
