Early Bird Seires 5 - Sunday 7th April 2019

Beautiful weather was in attendance in Gurnard Bay on Sunday for the fifth race of the Earlybird series. The strong flood tide and fickle Easterly breeze provided challenging conditions for the race officer and competitors alike. Shaun Kellett battled through to beat Paul Bowen in the Catamaran fleet. Tim Wilkins showed signs of getting to grips with his RS 600 finishing in third the Fast Handicap fleet behind James Downer and Jon Price in second and Mark Harrison in first. In the Medium Handicap fleet, Ed Salter's Laser Radial took a narrow victory over Jack Oswald's Laser Radial. The Picos sailed by Phil Wright and Julian Metcalf took first and second in the Slow Handicap Fleet. The growing RS Tera fleet was won by Noah Evans from Killian Boag and Thomas Leather.
