A busy Sunday at Gurnard with two races scheduled for each class in a light but pleasant North Easterly breeze. Pete Newlands had a great first race on his Shadow to take the first race from Paul Bowen and Pete Bowen. Shaun Kellett suffered gear failure but made up for this in the second race with a good win from Paul Bowen and Paul Tanner. In the Fast Handicap, Ollie Evans and Toby Atherton managed first and second place finishes on their 29er. Mark Harrison matched this on his RS100 and Giles Peckham took third place in both races. Robin Leather borrowed an RS700 for race two and managed to finish a creditable fourth on his first time out. The Medium Handicap was ever consistent with the same podium positions in both races, all going to the RS Aero's of Jane Peckham, Chris Hobday and Judith French. The 20 starters in the Slow Handicap had the closest racing. Robin Leather on his RS Feva took victory in race one followed by Dawn Bee and Kate Gibbs in their Pico's. Young William Bradley and dad Luke were victorious in race two followed again by Dawn and Kate with Ben Willows and son Taylor finishing an excellent fourth in a borrowed RS Feva. Pico sailors, James Watson, Ben Hobbs and Tom Cole scored well in both races. The cadets in the ever growing RS Tera fleet were dominated by Killian Boag. Thomas Leather managed two second places and the third spot was shared between Angus Middleton-Leal and Ilyana Taylor-Burns. Taylor Willows didn't let the big fleet put him off starting his first solo Tera race before helping dad Ben in race two. Samuel Leather managed to finish both races as fourth RS Tera.
