A strong flood tide gave testing conditions for the evening race on Wednesday. Close tacking up the shore was the order of evening with only just enough wind to make progress towards the west. Shaun Kellett led home in the Shadows followed by Paul Bowen and Carl Blenkinsop. There were more retires than finishers in the Fast Handicap. Only James Downer and crew followed by Tim Wilkins and crew Thomas Leather persevered up to Baxters for all two rounds. The medium handicap was won by the Aero of Chris Hobday ahead of Steve Cole and then Kingsley Brown. Ben and Talyor Willows sailing a Feva took an early lead in the Slow Handicap but they were eventually ground down by the chasing pack. A great race by Tomas Gibb in his Laser 4.7 gave him the win ahead of Robin and Samuel Leather in their RS Feva with Cameron Hook in his Laser 4.7 in third.
Sunday was breezy and overcast. The first 'windy' race for some time. Bob Preston took to the water in his RS700 for the first time in years and came back smiling. A Father's Day treat. Tim Wilkins and crew Heather easily won the fast handicap, their RS500 loving the windy conditions. Oliver Evans and crew managed a good second on his 29er from the RS100 sailed by Al Dickson. Paul Bowen led home Carl Blenkinsop and Paul Tanner in the well supported Shadow Class. The Lasers dominated the RS Aeros in the Medium Handicap, won by Luke Margham, followed by Will Robinson and Anthony Lock. The 16 starters in the Slow Handicap were led home by the RS Feva sailed by Robin and Samuel Leather, followed by Toby Atherton in a borrowed Laser 4.7 and Phil Wright on his Pico. Thomas Leather liked the windy conditions to beat Killian Boag in the RS Teras, the rest of the fleet opting for an early shower.
