Following Monday's announcement from the government, the flag officers met to agree the way forward for our return to club activities.
Organised sport is allowed from the 29th March and we are pleased to tell everyone that we intend to start racing from the 4th April. The Calendar has been adjusted and the Wednesday evening racing and training will start as scheduled. We have agreed the following steps in line with the dates issued by the government.
29th March Boat park open, clubhouse and changing rooms shut, social distancing and rule of six applicable outside.
12th April Clubhouse upstairs toilets open with social distancing and rule of six inside and out. Face masks inside. Tea/coffee available outside after racing. Changing rooms shut.
17th May Clubhouse bar and kitchen open with social distancing and rule of six inside and out. Face masks inside. One way system in place. Changing rooms shut.
21st June Clubhouse open as normal but with COVID screens remaining at kitchen and bar. Changing rooms open.
As always, these dates may change in line with further government advice and guidance from the RYA. The current guidance is available here: https://www.rya.org.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/clubs/Covid%20FAQs%20in%20England%20from%205%20Jan%202021.pdf?fbclid=IwAR3RZQXNblNWB9zKDC1sKI2ryUf_68bbkfNMc2J9tj_-OGYFGLePlkb9Y1Y
We intend to open the database for volunteer slots from the 17th May, up to that time we are asking for volunteers to serve tea and coffee from the balcony doors and also to assist with safety boats on a Wednesday evening.
We also ask that you all abide by the government guidelines in and around the club, and especially when using the public beach and slipway. Please also scan the track and trace codes in the outside notice board, and inside the clubhouse from 17th May.
There will be further communications from Mark Jenkinson regarding boat sites, training along with start times and classes for the racing.
Thank you all for your support and patience over the last year, if any guidance changes we will update everyone, in the meantime let's hope the route back to normality will be smooth!!
