The NatWest Island Games takes place in Gibraltar from 6th to 12th July 2019. If any sailors are interested in representing the Isle of Wight in either the Laser or Laser Radial classes the please see the document below for information on how to apply.

All members requiring boat sites at GSC for 2018 please login & update your boat details by Jan 31st for your 2018 boat berth. GSC site will be invoiced on February 1st for boatsite March-December 2018. Fee for winter storage (£21) added where boat was not removed. Prices, new applications and all terms are in the form under THE CLUB section. Marsh site will be invoiced in March as usual

Although the weather decided to stop any sailing taking place on the final day of the season, the club house was packed for the Christmas lunch and annual prize giving. This Sunday 10th December marks the last race of the Frostbite Series and our sailing season, and following the race will be our annual prize giving. A gentle Westerly breeze welcomed the Frostbite series sailors on Sunday morning. It was business as usual for the Shadows as Paul Bowen took victory from Carl Blenkinsop and Pete Newlands. A bright but chilly day with a brisk Westerly wind greated the hardy Gurnard fleets. Paul Bowen romped home in the Shadow catamaran fleet from Carl Blenkinsop and Shaun Kellett. Brett Aarons took an easy victory in the fast handicap. In the medium group, James Downer's Finn mastered the conditions to beat the chasing Areos of Chris Hobday and Kingsley Brown. It was bright and sunny with a light north easterly breeze in Gurnard Bay. Beautiful day for mid November. The light winds kept all fleets racing around a short technical course in the bay. The short course kept the Shadow catamarans close together, the final tussle being won by Pete Newlands. In the Asymmetric group, the RS 400 of Graham Deegan triumphed over the following RS100s.
