A gentle Westerly breeze welcomed the Frostbite series sailors on Sunday morning. It was business as usual for the Shadows as Paul Bowen took victory from Carl Blenkinsop and Pete Newlands. A bright but chilly day with a brisk Westerly wind greated the hardy Gurnard fleets. Paul Bowen romped home in the Shadow catamaran fleet from Carl Blenkinsop and Shaun Kellett. Brett Aarons took an easy victory in the fast handicap. In the medium group, James Downer's Finn mastered the conditions to beat the chasing Areos of Chris Hobday and Kingsley Brown. It was bright and sunny with a light north easterly breeze in Gurnard Bay. Beautiful day for mid November. The light winds kept all fleets racing around a short technical course in the bay. The short course kept the Shadow catamarans close together, the final tussle being won by Pete Newlands. In the Asymmetric group, the RS 400 of Graham Deegan triumphed over the following RS100s. It was great to see so many people out racing and enjoying the fantastic conditions last Sunday in the Frostbite series. There are still five more races to go in this series so here's hoping we get more great weather like that! Press Release from Gurnard Sailing Club, Cowes, Isle of Wight. Gurnard Sailing Club's annual Cowes Dinghy Week Regatta began on Saturday, attracting some fifty-five entries for the afternoon racing and twenty-four cadets to the junior event.
