Executive and Flag Officers
Gurnard Sailing Club is owned by its members. The principal assets are held in trust by the Trustees. The club operates within a set of rules, bye-laws and policies which are consistent with model rules proposed by our regulatory body, the RYA. Like any other club, it is organised with committees, chairmen etc. Due to its connection with the sea and hence the navy, the various posts use naval terminology, each of which has specific responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the club.
The Admiral, who is the nominal head of the club, is appointed at the annual general meeting on the recommendation of the General Committee. The Admiral does not have a specific role but will usually be a former officer of the club and will offer guidance and assistance to the Commodore
