2026 Cadet registration of Intent
Bookings will close on the 20th March and there are limited spaces. Bookings do not guarantee a space on the course. We have to ensure we have the relevant groups for instructors and cadets. Within a week of the booking closing you will receive an email confirming if you are on the course, which night and the invoice to be paid within 7 days to confirm your space. Cadet Training is offered in the following formats
Thursday Cadets
Delivered as an RYA Training Scheme - Beginner Sailing developing skills, confidence and enjoyment, with some Entry level racing for those with more experience
Friday Cadets
Race Training in Groups
Explorer Skills Sailing - developing all round sailing skills, confidence and understanding in both single and doublehanded boats, including spinnaker sailing, with some entry level race training
Both delivered as an RYA Training Scheme
Adult Sail Training (including older teenagers)
If you are an adult and keen to develop your dinghy sailing skills, helming and crewing we are proposing a set of Saturday training days which will allow for a longer session and the opportunity to take the dinghies further from the club and enjoy developing spinnaker skills amongst other fun. We are aiming for 4/5 Saturdays with the possibility of some further sessions in early Autumn.
Costs are £105 for the instruction per person, for the whole course.
If you dont have a boat then there is an additional charge of £100 which enables us to find your cadet a boat for the sessions. Sometimes these will be shared.
Please note parents / carers are expected to help out with these sessions. All our instructors are volunteers and want to spend time training the cadets so we need your help getting the boats ready, launching ribs or doing kitchen and bar duties. When not doing duties, we do appreciate help launching the ribs etc. Please just ask how you can help, you dont need any sailing knowledge or skills, just a willingness to support.
